taken as many
times required.
After passing
part one you
have 2 years to
pass parts 2 and
3.
Part one
of the ADI
examination
consists of a
theory test.
This consists
of the

The first
section of the
Part 1 test is
designed to test
your theory
behind driving.
It consists of a
total of 100
multiple choice
question that
cover a range of
topics and these
subjects are
divided into
four bands

How the
result is
calculated
To pass you must
score a minimum
of 85%. This
total must
include at least
20 correct
answers in each
band.
A high
percentage mark
can be scored
but still result
in failure.
In the example
above the
candidate has
scored an
overall mark of
93% but has
failed because
the minimum
score (20 marks)
was not achieved
in Band 3
(Score:19)
The second part
of the Part 1
test is the
Hazard
Perception test.
In this
particular test
candidates have
to watch an
interactive
video on the
computer. In
total there are
14 clips and
candidates have
to identify the
developing
hazard by
clicking the
mouse. The clips
are divided into
five parts. The
total amount of
marks for this
test is 75 with
a pass mark of
57 marks.
